Cookies

This site sets no cookies for you unless you say yes. The banner asks once, and your own browser keeps your answer so it does not ask again.
_ga and _ga_…
Google Analytics, set only if you say yes on the banner. They let Google tell a first visit from a return visit, so I can see which pages get read. They last up to 13 months, and they are never used for advertising.
admin_access
This one is only ever set for me. When I sign in to the private admin pages it lasts eight hours, it never leaves this site, and it tracks nothing. If you are not me, you will never meet it.
Why there is a banner
Google Analytics uses cookies, so you choose first. Nothing from Google loads until you say yes, and saying no costs you nothing on this site.
The one video is a still image until you press play, so YouTube does not know you were here unless you decide to watch it.
Changing your answer
Press this and the banner asks you again. If you had said yes, the Google cookies are removed first.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice. It is a description of what this site actually does, checked against the live site rather than against my own notes.
