Terms of use
Last updated 26 August 2026.
This site is run by Imran Ali, from Leicester in the United Kingdom. Using it means you are alright with what follows. It is short.
This is not advice
Everything here, and everything in the book, is written for people in general and not for you in particular. It is not religious rulings, and it is not medical or mental-health advice. For a ruling, ask a scholar. For anything to do with your health or how you are coping, speak to a doctor or someone qualified. The contact page lists people who will help.
If something is urgent, do not wait for me or for a book. Call 999 in the UK, or your local emergency number wherever you are.
The writing is mine
The book, the pages on this site and the free chapter are my work and stay my copyright. You are very welcome to send the free chapter to somebody who needs it. Please do not sell it, republish it as your own, or feed it into something that reproduces it. If you would like to quote a piece somewhere, ask me and I will almost certainly say yes.
Getting in touch
An enquiry about a workshop is an enquiry, not a booking. Nothing is confirmed until we have both said so, in writing, with a date on it.
Please do not use the forms to send anything abusive, or anything automated. There are limits on how often they can be used, so a person will not notice them and a script will.
Other people’s sites
Where I link somewhere else, including to helplines, to Revive, to Here For Youth and to Amazon, those places are run by other people under their own rules. I point at them because I think they are worth your time, not because I control them.
When it breaks
I keep this site running as best I can, but it is one man and a server. It may go down, an email may not arrive, and a page may be wrong. Tell me and I will fix it. What I cannot do is take responsibility for a loss caused by the site being unavailable or by something on it being out of date. Nothing here takes away any right you have under UK law.
The dull bit
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If I change them, the date at the top changes. See also the privacy notice and the cookies page.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice. It is a plain description of how this site works, written to be understood rather than to be impressive.
